I’ve known Carl since May 2011, we did the ‘Insanity Asylum’ 30-day challenge together. I saw his struggles, his dedication, his journey. I am happy to have associated with Carl. He brought it, again and again and again! Now, he is also a Coach and has his own team (http://team-phalanx.com/) where he’s paying it forward just like some of us are. Check out his journey from 54% Body Fat to 7-8% range; proud of you bro! Keep bringin’ it!
His Story in his own words
“Man O man, has it been a long ride brother! Well here goes. I started P90X in May of 2010, after being morbidly obese. I got to the point where I was basically sick and tired of being SICK and TIRED. On my father’s side of my family heart problems run rampant. I lost him to a heart attack at a young age. Knowing this, I still continued to eat junk food over the years. Before I knew it I ballooned up to almost 300 pounds. I knew something needed to change. I didn’t have a clue about working out, the only thing I worked out was a honey bun in my left hand and xbox controller in my right. I looked in to P90X because
1) I couldn’t afford a gym membership and
2) The thought of working out at home was quite enticing.
Fast forward to May 2010 I went all in! Pressed play every day and changed my nutrition up. It was hard..some days seemed damn near impossible . At first I could only do 5 push ups and 0 pull ups, but it all came in time. My first round of P90X I shredded 35 pounds. After that I was a believer! I did another round of P90X, my clothes started to get looser and my body composition began to change. After finishing 2 rounds of P90X, It gave me the confidence and most importantly the “structure” to embark on other Beachbody programs. I then went on to complete Insanity, and Insanity: The Asylum as well as P90X2. I’m currently at 166lbs around 7-8% BF. And I started at 245lbs with 54% body fat. It still amazes me that I transformed my body at home from my living room. That’s PURE CRAZINESS! My quality of life has changed drastically. I can do things now that I could never do before, <cough> PULL UPS. All because I got over my excuses and FEAR of failure and did something about it. Trust me friends..if I can do it, you can do it too I promise you! You just have to hit that play button and do what YOU can do..the rest will fall into place! Team-PHALANX UP!!!!! ”
